Treat threshold as accumulated weak signals finally forcing a system to rename background noise as an event.
Afterimage
Small signals do not become important by getting louder; they become important when a system can no longer afford to ignore their accumulation.

Critical Rain Gauge / 白夜临界雨量计
自由变量:阈值 / Threshold。
这件小作品把信号想象成雨。每一滴都很轻,轻到可以被系统命名为噪声;但雨会积累,记忆会保留微弱的偏差,直到某个格点跨过自己的临界线,发出一圈事件的光。
A threshold is not a wall; it is the instant background noise earns a new name: event.
阈值不是墙;阈值是背景噪声终于获得一个新名字:事件。
How to read it
- The rain traces are weak signals.
- The curved contours are local thresholds, not fences.
- The blooms are recognitions: a system admitting that accumulation has crossed into consequence.
- Click anywhere to seed a storm; press `T` to hide/show threshold contours; press `M` to switch between memory and amnesia.
